Min/Max Inventory Control

SDG’s Min/Max inventory control system is sophisticated and automated. Every half hour, every supplier is updated with SDG’s current inventory information. This near-real-time system gives greater visibility into our systems and flexibility to our suppliers.

Lean Manufacturing

Line of Balance

Line Of Balance (LOB) is a management control process for collecting, measuring and presenting facts relating to time, cost and accomplishment – all measured against a specific plan. It shows the process, status, background, timing and phasing of the project activities, thus providing management with measuring tools that help:

1. Comparing actual progress with a formal objective plan.
2. Examining only the deviations from established plans, and gauging their degree of severity with respect to the remainder of the project.
3. Receiving timely information concerning trouble areas and indicating areas where appropriate corrective action is required.
4. Forecasting future performance.

SDG’s “Line of Balance” is a graphic device that enables us to see at a single glance which of many activities comprising a complex operation are “in balance” – i.e., whether those which should have been completed at the time of the review actually are completed and whether any activities scheduled for future completion are lagging behind schedule.

Fasteners

Major Structures Assembly

The experience of the SDG team and the proven performance of our mentor company, SpeQtrum Aerospace, combine to give us the skills, knowledge, and tools to tackle any project, no matter how large or complex.

SpeQtrum Aerospace is currently the sole source for the Cargo Door Surround Structures for the Boeing 737. At a rate of 1.7 airplanes per day, SpeQtrum brings together hundreds of detail parts, with a BOM structure several layers deep. Even with this complexity and rapid pace, they have a 100% on-time delivery record and quality acceptance of greater than 99% (rolling 12-month average). With such a strong supplier as our partner, there is no task that SDG can’t handle.

SpeQtrum also has skilled sealers on-staff, with experience in fay, fillet, cap, and brush-coat sealing.

SpeQtrum Aerospace, SDG’s partner and mentor company, can handle any project you send our way.

Using state-of-the-art tools, like CATIA V5R21 with SmarTeam PLM, Vericut 7 (with machine simulation), and Exact Software’s JobBOSS ERP, we provide full turn-key solutions, from design to tooling to manufacturing. Your burden is reduced when we take care of all the details for you.

Our NC programmers are highly skilled in complex, large-envelope 5-axis machining. We work to reduce setup burden from the very beginning to bring you the greatest value possible.

Supply Chain Management

Using advanced proprietary tools and state-of-the-industry techniques, SDG can take complete control of your sub-tier supply chain, providing a seamless experience for you.

When you source a project through us, all of the details are taken care of behind the scenes. From simple consumables to extremely complex major structural assembly with multiple BOM levels, we can reduce the complexity that you have to deal with to a single supplier, SDG.

Our partner supply base encompasses more than 64 suppliers in 5 countries, with supplier portal access to inventory levels, updated every half hour.

Project Management

SDG has the experience, people, and tools to manage your major outsourcing projects. Using industry standard tools and our own proprietary communication and reporting utilities, SDG manages and measures every step of the sourcing process.

We will work with you to define milestones and reporting activities, including stoplight and progress charting.
